Laboratories Testing Quality Assurance
The Grenada Bureau of Standards (GDBS), established under the Standards Act of 1989, is the national agency responsible for developing and promoting standards for improving goods and services produced or used in Grenada. What is a Standard? A standard is a precise and authoritative statement of the criteria necessary to ensure that a material, product, or procedure is fit for its intended purpose. Therefore, standards ensure the safety of the consumer and protection against deception caused by misleading marketing of a product or service. Standards also provide a yardstick against which products or services could be evaluated. Standards are developed on a consensus basis through the work of local technical committees. These committees comprise persons of various interests, such as producers, consumers, technologists, and other private and public sector professionals. Call or visit us at www.gdbs.gd for more information.
