About
Established in 1972 by local entrepreneurs, Jonas Browne & Hubbard (Grenada) Limited is a limited liability company that offers a diverse range of products and services such as building materials, groceries, vehicles, shipping services, LAND® leather materials, appliances and property insurance through its wholly owned subsidiary, Grenadian General Insurance Company Ltd. Operations in Grenada started during the 1830s. In 1915, we became a private limited liability company known as A. Hubbard & Company Limited. By the 1940s, control was passed to the Browne family of England, who also operated an import-export company named Jonas Browne & Sons in the United Kingdom. In 1947, the two companies were amalgamated, and the new company was incorporated in the United Kingdom under the name Jonas Browne & Hubbard Limited. During the late 1950s until 1971, the company undertook several vigorous and imaginative expansions and improvement programs to take advantage of the changing pattern of business in Grenada. In 1964, Food Fair on the Carenage was established, followed by the Grand Anse branch in 1971 with the slogan, "where you can fill your baskets without emptying your pockets". It still stands today. In June 2018, the Food Fair Grand Anse entered a new era by implementing technology to better meet customers' needs, by introducing its online e-commerce store known as the Food Fair Webstore. This development allowed customers to transact business within the comfort of their homes and receive free delivery or curb-side pickup where applicable. Subsequently, the Webstore underwent a recent makeover, becoming a more responsive platform with cutting-edge features, including recipes. Of course, firmly committed to our slogan, our excellent customer service continues. Visit us in person or at www.foodfair.gd today!
