About
The National Youth Service (NYS) was formed by the Government of Jamaica in 1973. It equips young people aged 17-24 with life coping skills for personal and career development. NYS programmes focus on volunteerism, character development, and work experience. Since 2010, NYS has certified participants in their training areas, including the Textbook Management and Support Aide and Teacher’s Assistant programmes.
