The St Vincent Co-operative Bank Limited opened on February 1, 1945, making it one of the oldest indigenous financial institutions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is known as "Penny Bank" or "Forde Bank" after its founder Ormond Forde. The bank holds more Savings Accounts than any other financial institution in the area.
